NAT'S 100 MILES IN OCTOBER
One month.100 miles. One very unfit man.
I’m walking, jogging, wheezing and regretting my life choices through 100 Miles in October, all in an effort to raise money for Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). That’s roughly 3.2 miles a day, for a man whose usual cardio is walking slightly faster because he’s late. Follow along as I discover muscles I didn’t know I had, and as we support a fantastic cause.
Every mile counts. Add your first activity to get moving.

WHY BOTHER?
You never know what someone’s carrying
Through work in education, first response and volunteering, I’ve spent a lot of time around people at very different points in their lives. People can look completely fine while privately struggling far more than anyone realises.
That’s why I’m backing CALM. They help people through the messy reality of being human, and work to make suicide prevention part of everyday life, with a life-saving helpline, practical advice and resources for when things feel impossible.
We need to get better at asking people how they’re doing and actually listening to the answer. Reaching out for help should never be something to feel embarrassed about. Stopping suicide starts with all of us, one act at a time. This is one of mine.
Every £12.20 raised could fund a potentially life-saving call to CALM’s suicide prevention helpline. Whether it’s a couple of quid (or Dinar for my Bahraini friends!) or considerably more, I’d genuinely appreciate it. Can’t donate? Sharing the page helps too.
